Why does Yéyo call its copper stills The Destroyer and The Perfector?
They're Yéyo's nicknames for the two copper pot stills used during distillation.
The larger first still is The Destroyer — it handles much of the heavy work during the first distillation. The smaller second still is The Perfector — the second distillation is more refined, which led to the nickname.
Who is Dan the Duck?
Dan the Duck is one of the more unusual members of the Yéyo distillery family: a rubber hot-tub duck thermometer used to check the temperature in the radiator tank during production. He takes the job very seriously.
Why are there lime trees and flowers inside the Yéyo distillery?
At Destilería El Ranchito, NOM 1414, 10 former Yéyo barrels have been repurposed as planters alongside the fermentation tanks and roller mills. Today they hold several lime trees and flowers.
The plants bring citrus aromas, flowers and insects into the environment surrounding Yéyo's fermentation tanks, and Yéyo considers this living environment part of the character surrounding fermentation. It's also a very Yéyo way to give old barrels a second life.
Why is Yéyo blessed at the distillery?
Several times each year, a local Catholic priest visits Destilería El Ranchito to bless the distillery staff and Yéyo bottling. It has become a continuing Yéyo tradition at NOM 1414.

Examples include rum, Cognac, White Port, Sauternes, Sherry, Tokaji Aszú, Willett whiskey, and wine casks such as Syrah and peach wine.

No. Yéyo's limited releases are produced in restricted quantities and availability varies. Sold-out releases may remain on yeyotequila.com as part of Yéyo's archive and Barrel Library.
